Term #1 - Love Bombing

Love bombing is a manipulative tactic often used in toxic relationships or by individuals with narcissistic tendencies. It involves overwhelming someone with excessive affection, attention, and grand gestures early in a relationship to gain control or create dependency. This can include constant compliments, gifts, intense communication, and declarations of love, often at an unnaturally fast pace.

While it may initially feel flattering, love bombing is a form of emotional manipulation designed to lower the recipient's defenses and establish dominance. Once the manipulator gains control, the behavior often shifts to devaluation or neglect, leaving the victim confused and emotionally vulnerable.

Love bombing is commonly associated with narcissistic abuse, cults, and unhealthy relationships. Recognizing this pattern is crucial for maintaining emotional well-being and setting boundaries. In summary, love bombing is a deceptive and harmful tactic that uses excessive affection to manipulate and control others.
